چکیده

The development of elegant matching procedures has significantly improved the search time of a query sequence in a database of molecular sequences. However the architectural limitations of conventional computers allow only one sequence access/retrieval from the database at a time. This paper presents a digital hardware-based solution for fast comparison of molecular sequences.

A Low-Power CAM Design for LZ Data Compression

ÐLow-power and high-performance data compressors play an increasingly important role in the portable mobile computing and wireless communication markets. Among lossless data compression algorithms for hardware implementation, LZ77 is one of the most widely used. For real-time communication, some hardware LZ compressors/decompressors have been proposed in the past. Content addressable memory (CA...

Content Addressable Memory Using XNOR CAM Cell

One of the special types of Computer Memory is said to be as Content Addressable Memory. It is also called as associative array or associative storage, associative memory which can be frequently used in very high speed searching applications such as databases, associative computing, lookup tables and networking. CAM is one type of functional memory which contains huge amount of stored data wher...

Sparse Matrix Multiplication on CAM Based Accelerator

Sparse matrix multiplication is an important component of linear algebra computations. In this paper, an architecture based on Content Addressable Memory (CAM) and Resistive Content Addressable Memory (ReCAM) is proposed for accelerating sparse matrix by sparse vector and matrix multiplication in CSR format. Using functional simulation, we show that the proposed ReCAM-based accelerator exhibits...

Design and Power-Performance Optimization of A Low Leakage Serial CAM by using DTCMOS Technique and Transistor Stacks

The Content Addressable Memory (CAM) is a class of memory that allows access by data instead of by physical address. On a read access to a CAM, embedded into a processor cache, each word is compared in a broadcast mode, to see if it matches the requested data; thus requiring only one access. Due to their parallel pattern matching property, CAMs are gaining increasing importance over Random Acce...

A Reconfigurable Content Addressable Memory

Content Addressable Memories or CAMs are popular parallel matching circuits. They provide the capability, in hardware, to search a table of data for a matching entry. This functionality is a high performance alternative to popular software-based searching schemes. CAMs are typically found in embedded circuitry where fast matching is essential. This paper presents a novel approach to CAM impleme...
